Katie and Olivia Get Married at The Carriage House
Updated: Mar 26, 2021
Katie and Olivia are not just love birds, they are madly in love. That’s what I quickly realized the morning of their wedding.
They are so down to earth people would gladly fly around it to spend a weekend with them. Their wedding was at the Pioneer Barn (newly named The Carriage House) in the uptown district of St. Augustine, Florida. The Carriage House is conveniently located on San Marco Avenue and San Marco Avenue’s unique crafts, antiques, and homemade food make it one of my favorite places to go for a Sunday stroll. Across the street from the venue lies the Southern Oaks Inn, where the couple stayed. Although the Southern Oaks Inn is not quite walking distance from the center of town, Sarah Annay, the photographer, and me were able to coordinate a first look at The Lightner Museum downtown by driving Katie and Olivia in separate cars. It was only a 10 minute drive from the venue to anywhere we wanted to shoot around St. Augustine's gorgeous backdrops.
The wedding was themed around Katie and Olivia’s adventurous souls, experiencing nature, and most of all, true love. Reverend Deborah Montana with Goddess Wedding Ceremonies hosted one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever heard — so beautiful my fiancé and I are using her for our own wedding next May. Their reception was a reminder of the most important part of every wedding: the people attending. It was an amazing group of friends and family who ended the night arms locked in a circle singing Frank Sinatra's “New York, New York.” It was one of those moments where time slowed down … where everyone put aside their differences and officially became family.
