1. St. Augustine Amphitheatre
The region's premier outdoor venue, set inside Anastasia State Park, with a capacity of about 4,700 and 40-plus concerts a year alongside community and cultural events. If your event is a concert, festival, or large outdoor gathering, nothing else in St. Augustine matches its scale or setting. 2. World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort
The area's heavy hitter for conferences. The resort carries roughly 45,000 square feet of event space, including a 26,400-square-foot indoor ballroom that seats up to 3,000 — by far the largest in the St. Augustine area, with the breakouts, staging, and hotel rooms a multi-day conference needs. If you're running a true convention or a large general session, this is the short list. 3. Casa Monica Resort & Spa
St. Augustine's landmark luxury hotel, a Moorish Revival icon downtown with about 12,000 square feet of event space and a Flagler Ballroom that hosts galas and seated dinners up to roughly 300. It's the choice when the brief is "historic and high-end" — award nights, executive dinners, upscale receptions. The interiors are rich and dramatic, which on camera means exposing carefully for ambiance rather than washing it out with flat light — a venue that rewards a team that knows how to shoot a moody historic room.

4. Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort
The go-to oceanfront conference hotel, with more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space and a 5,200-square-foot Anastasia Ballroom that holds up to 580 and splits into three breakout rooms — all with the Atlantic out the window. We filmed HMA Mortgage's two-day Sales Rally here, running keynotes and panels in the Anastasia Ballroom and out on the terrace, then pulling attendees into the Surf Crest Ballroom — the ocean and the St. Augustine Pier right behind them — for testimonials. It's a flexible, camera-friendly property with the rare bonus of a usable oceanfront backdrop.

5. Flagler College (Lewis Auditorium)
A working college on a National Historic Landmark campus — the 1888 former Hotel Ponce de Leon, in Spanish Renaissance style. Lewis Auditorium seats about 795 and suits lectures, ceremonies, performances, and large presentations, while the broader campus offers some of the most striking historic backdrops in the city. We shoot here regularly — graduation coverage and architectural work in the rotunda and former hotel interiors — so we know which spaces photograph best and how to light the historic ones.

6. The Treasury on the Plaza
A 1920s former bank turned event space on the downtown plaza, complete with a grand ballroom and a vault bar, hosting up to about 450 guests (around 225 in the main ballroom). It's a distinctive pick for galas, receptions, and milestone celebrations that want character without leaving the historic district. The architecture does a lot of the work on camera — the trick is balancing the dramatic interior with clean, usable light on faces.

7. Lightner Museum
The former Alcazar Hotel, a Gilded Age treasure on King Street, available for receptions, award dinners, and private functions from intimate gatherings of 40 up to around 225. It's a setting you can't replicate — courtyards, columns, and museum galleries — ideal when the event itself is meant to feel like an occasion. Like the city's other historic interiors, it rewards coverage that exposes for the room's mood instead of flattening it.

8. Ponte Vedra Concert Hall (nearby, in Ponte Vedra Beach)
A short drive north, this restored historic hall is one of Northeast Florida's best mid-size indoor venues — a flexible room that runs from a 450-seat theater to a roughly 900-capacity standing concert hall. It suits concerts, seated performances, and upscale seated events. Run, like the Amphitheatre, by SJC Cultural Events, it's a venue we cover often; its low, moody stage lighting is the technical challenge, and we shoot it with exposure bracketing to keep the dark interior clean.

9. Fort Mose Historic State Park
A site that carries real weight: the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in what's now the United States, now a state park that hosts cultural and heritage events — most notably the Fort Mose Jazz & Blues festival, which we cover. Coverage here is as much about honoring the place as the program: an after-dark outdoor concert means low-light shooting that has to hold both the music and the history. 10. Francis Field
